Your own address
The “Smart Choice Contrast” chapter describes other ways of working in general, not any one provider. Brands, labs and results on screen are fictional.
The Smarter Way (Why This Matters)
Manual spreadsheets and shared inboxes
- Someone saves each attachment and names it by hand.
- Results are retyped into a sheet, where a typo can hide for months.
- The latest COA for a lot lives in somebody’s mailbox.
With COA Proof
- One address per workspace: forward the email, and the files go in.
- Each file is read twice, and only what the reads can’t settle comes to you.
- Repeat files are recognised and not counted twice.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Open Settings and find Forward COAs to. New workspaces see the same address on their first screen, with a Copy button.
- Forward your last five lab emails to that address, with their attachments.
- Open Lots. Files that were read become draft suppliers, products and lots.
- Open Review for anything that needs a person, such as The two reads disagree.
- Rather upload? Use Upload COAs on the Lots page and choose Upload.
- Ask each lab to copy the Lab-direct address on future reports, so a passing sender check can count towards
lab-confirmed.
What to Watch For / Pro Tips
- The message body is ignored. Only attachments are read, so a result pasted into an email isn’t picked up.
- A file that is not a COA doesn’t use your allowance, and shows as Not a COA in Review.
- At your monthly allowance, mailed files are kept unread until there is room, and an upload is refused. See Billing.
- Forwarded mail doesn’t prove who wrote a report. It stays
document-checkeduntil the lab is confirmed another way.
